When I started loving on crystals, my very first beauty I was drawn to was citrine! Even though there is many many metaphysical properties to this crystal, my favorite was pretty simple……happiness, yup that’s it. That is my main focus in life is happiness & if I can carry this crystal around with me whether in my pocket, bra or create a pendant to amplify my happiness, well that is what I am going to do!!!
When I started reading the additional metaphysical properties, I thought SCORE!!!
~ abundance (who can’t use that in their life)
~ it is also known as the “money stone”, I keep a tumbled in my wallet & I have also read that merchants keep in their cash drawer!
~ Its great for decision making & creativity (great for being an ARTisan like myself)
~ new beginnings (whoa, wait, that was perfect for me at the time because I was started my crystal healing business)
~ also great for self esteem ( and lets face it at times when you are starting something new, you tend to second guess yourself)
The above are just a few of the metaphysical properties that applied to me & what was really cool is I found those AFTER I was drawn to it. That is why I say work with a crystal see how it is for YOU!
Now there is that “heat treated” version that you either love or hate, personally I don’t care for it, I do believe that the properties are the same, but honestly, I think its ugly & I am an all natural type of gal (I don’t even wear makeup, except eyeliner, you get the real deal with me lol)
How to tell the difference from heat treated citrine & natural citrine…….
If its heat-treated citrine, the color will be most concentrated at the tips but white at the bottom (see photos below). Also heat-treated citrine will be sort of crumbly & break apart easily since heating the stones at the temps necessary does seem to weaken the stability of the crystals.
When the miners mimic what mother earth gives to us naturally they begin with a low grade lightly colored Brazilian amethyst. Place it in a kiln to over 900°F ( of course, if you want a darker color the temp goes higher). All types of natural citrine are considered pretty rare and because they are able to mass produce heat treated citrine it will be easier to find and cheaper!
I do agree that heated treated crystals can be worked with very effectively because it did start out from mother earth, the only difference is heating the stone simply changes the color but doesn’t change its molecular structure, as long as a crystal’s molecular structure hasn’t been altered the crystal is work-able in our metaphysical land.
Now does it give you the amethyst properties or citrine properties? My personal belief is now that it is yellow/orange it will work well with the solar plexus & sacral so its going to resonate that energy now. I am still a huge believer on working with it, see what it does for you, in addition, I am a huge believer in the colors of crystals relating to each chakra.
Tell me about your first crystal love……
I’m not a fan of anything from the earth that is treated!
Not saying they are not pretty etc,I own some that I first got when I started back on my journey!
Need to check if I have a citrine! If not, help Debbie .
I do love stones that one side is polished and the other side natural! For display!
Thank you for sharing
If they are natural on one side and polished that is fine! That was not heat treated that was just polished by man to bring out the “pop” a bit more in the crystal! Its not a bad thing at all, just not my preference, you are very welcome & thanks for the feedback!!!
